Working Facing the Sky
Three weeks of Paris sky made me move my desk.

I spent almost three weeks in Paris recently. The sky there was blue too, but it was cold blue, the kind you look at through a window and don’t go out into. It did something I didn’t expect: it made me notice how much I like Rio. Not in a postcard way. Just the plain fact that I walk outside here and the weather is on my side.
I got back, woke up to a day with no clouds at all, and decided some things would change starting that morning. The first one was small. My desk used to sit where the sofa is now. I moved it to face the window. The boxes from that are still on the floor next to it, which tells you how much planning went into this.
From here I look at the mountain that separates Itaipu from the beach, and a lake off to the side. I’ve decided I want to work looking at the sky, looking out, for as long as this view lasts. That’s the whole post. Some decisions don’t need more reasoning than a good day.
