Have a Plan F

Burn the boats if you want. Then have many paths in the new world.

I have a plan B. A plan C. A plan D. A plan F, for fuck it. Have your plans. Have many plans. I agree a little with the idea of burning the boats. But if you want to burn the boats in this new world you’ve just arrived in, have many ideas. Have many paths in that new world.

Do not go gentle into that good night. Don’t walk into death gently. Know that a lot of good can still come. Don’t passively accept that things might go wrong. Do it with passion. Have several paths you’re passionate about, several possibilities, at the moment you burn the boat.

Even if you strongly believe things will work out, you can hit the wall. It happens. You can have another plan. You can have several plans. But never have only one plan, because it will imprison you. It will lock you into insisting on something that no longer makes sense. You’ll be banging your head against a wall for something that doesn’t exist anymore.

Maybe I’ll be convinced otherwise in the future, that you have to bang your head against it until the end. But with what I know today, it isn’t worth banging your head against something forever.
